Rational Emotions.

Emotional views don't come from rational causes. A person might be inclined to feel a certain way, then decides on the rationale of the matter, completely unknowing of his own game. My sister does this all the time. If she wants something or likes something, she makes up a whole slew of pseudoarguments in order to justify it. Why can't you just say, I just want it or I just like it? It'd be a whole lot more truthful.

All the time someone says they like a certain thing, such as such and such a band, and the other person, exasperated, will have to explain to them why of course they are utterly wrong in liking them and how such and such a band is the real thing. My sister says: Rock takes a lot more skill to do.. and it might take some getting used to, but believe me, it's worth it.

I invite her to tell that to Mozart.

Come on! People like different styles of music. They might change their tastes, but this isn't advancement, it's just change. If they like it, it has to be good, for them.

Then some people decide that the world is a terrible place. Then they read the newspapers and find such and such a disaster or war which proves them absolutely right.

Or some people decide they love life. They marvel at the birds and the trees and the mountains, at the abundant love humanity can show when they are not killing each other, how lovely their new iPod is...

Funny thing, these people are both right. That's why they never, ever change their views.

What would work out much better is if you just decided to be happy. THEN look at the world and see it is a beautiful place. There's no logic. There world isn't anything before you say what it is.

If you want to be happy, be happy. It's pretty much that simple.
