I'm not sure what to make of my steadily increasing number of hits per month. Is it some achievement of my own, or is it that, perhaps, as people find me on search engines I become more "popular" so I get moved up in the rankings, so people end up finding me on the search engines more -- a positive feedback loop? I feel as if I'm in one of those conversations when the other is giving you praise but you can't tell if they're being sincere or just mocking you. I still haven't got any mail from any reader yet, though I guess that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Well, on the assumption that I might have some truly interested readers, I wanted to share a little interesting thing that I experienced.

I photographed this at lunchtime a while back. It's faint, but the cloud is rainbow-coloured (it had been more impressive before I ran off to get my camera, but it shifted a bit). Afterwards I searched the internet for "rainbow cloud" and came up with some pretty humbling examples (e.g.). Apparently in summer, near noon, you get light coming against the clouds at an angle which, if the conditions are right, cause this.

Funny how many interesting little things there are which you never knew existed. Ahh, but you're expecting me to say that. Well, it's true. Clichéd as it may be...
